Andrew Leonenko: The Agentic AI Engineer Building a Studio for the AI Era

Andrew Leonenko is a Principal AI and Platform Engineer and founder who specializes in the systems layer of AI. With over eleven years of experience building and scaling enterprise software, he turns large language models into reliable production software: MCP servers, model configuration and routing, retrieval, and agent orchestration. As the founder and CEO of Leonenko Group LLC, he applies that same expertise to a growing portfolio of his own products.

A specialist in agentic AI

Most engineers who talk about AI are talking about using it. Andrew builds the infrastructure that makes it dependable. His focus is agentic AI development: the tooling, context, and orchestration that let language models act as reliable software rather than unpredictable demos. That means MCP servers and typed tools, multi-provider model routing with fallback chains tuned for cost and latency, retrieval and vector memory, and evaluation, not model training or research, but the production systems layer that most teams struggle to get right.

As Principal AI and Platform Engineer at Balance Partners, an insurtech company, he leads agentic AI and the API platform behind a modern insurance stack, owning context, tooling, and orchestration end to end. There he designed and shipped IMS MCP servers exposing more than thirty typed tools across entities, producers, financials, and reports, bringing AI tooling to full parity with the core platform API. It is a concrete example of his thesis in action: give an AI agent well-designed tools and reliable routing, and it becomes a trustworthy part of an enterprise system.

Across verticals, at every scale

Andrew works across multiple verticals and companies, applying deep technical knowledge to build robust, future-proof solutions for enterprise organizations. He is equally at home on a two-person startup team and inside a hundred-thousand-employee enterprise, and he has shipped across insurtech, healthcare, legal tech, and sports tech.

That range is real, not aspirational. At Altera Digital Health he modernized legacy healthcare systems into microservices, improving uptime and deployment speed by roughly forty percent in a regulated, enterprise-scale environment. At Infodash he delivered Azure and platform work for legal-tech clients. As CTO and founding member of Scorebooker LLC, he sets engineering and technology strategy for an early-stage sports-tech startup. The domains change, but the standard does not: systems designed to hold up years after they ship, not just to pass a demo.

A founder who ships a portfolio

The clearest measure of an engineer is what they have shipped, and Andrew has shipped a portfolio. Through Leonenko Group he has designed, built, and launched multiple AI products end to end as a solo founder, sustaining more than two thousand commits a year across dozens of repositories.

FaithWise is a live faith and wellbeing app: a daily companion for scripture, guided prayer, and reflection, with natural voice narration built on his own text-to-speech pipeline.

DreamTide is a premium sleep app: original sleep stories, soundscapes, and wind-downs, crafted to help people rest.

Alongside them sit TeachStack, AI lesson planning for K-12, and FleetRun, a fully autonomous agentic company suite that puts his agent-orchestration work to the test on his own operations. Different audiences, one founder, one company, and a consistent standard of craft across all of it.

What comes next

Andrew founded Leonenko Group on a simple conviction: that a Principal Engineer equipped with modern agentic AI can build a durable software company that puts users first, while continuing to solve the hardest problems for enterprise organizations. The infrastructure is his own, the portfolio is growing, and the focus stays fixed on making AI genuinely reliable.
