Dreamtide Is Live on the App Store

Dreamtide Is Live on the App Store

Today, Dreamtide is live on the App Store.

In February we said we were building something for the end of the day: a quieter way to fall asleep. Since then we have been writing, recording, mixing, and testing, and the app that shipped today is the one we set out to make. It is calm, dark, and unhurried, and it exists to do one thing well: help you rest.

What is in the app

Dreamtide launches with four things, each built to be drifted off to rather than paid attention to.

  • Sleep stories. Original stories written to slow a racing mind and narrated at the pace of falling asleep. They are not meant to be finished. They are meant to be left behind somewhere in the first act.
  • Guided meditations. Short, gentle wind-downs for the minutes between lying down and letting go. No jargon, no performance, just a voice walking you toward stillness.
  • A soundscape mixer with a sleep timer. Layer rain over waves, wind over a crackling fire, and set a timer that fades everything out after you are gone. The loops are seamless, with no gaps to pull you back awake.
  • Soft, real voices. Every story and meditation is narrated in a warm, human voice. If a voice is going to be the last thing you hear at night, it should sound like a person.

Calm on purpose

Earlier this year we wrote about what makes software calm: no dark patterns, privacy by default, respect for attention, and building to last. Dreamtide is the clearest expression of that standard we have shipped so far, because a sleep app has no honest alternative. An app for the end of the day cannot chase engagement. There are no streaks, no feeds, and no notifications nudging you back in. The interface is built for the dark, and success is measured by how quickly you stop looking at it.

The same goes for the business model. Dreamtide is a paid subscription with a 7-day free trial, long enough to spend a real week of nights with it and decide honestly whether it earns a place in your evening. There are no ads and your attention is not the product. If it is not for you, canceling is as clear as starting.

Where it fits

FaithWise opens the day; Dreamtide closes it. They are different apps for different moments, but they are built to the same standard: software that improves an everyday moment and then gets out of the way. With today's launch, both ends of that day are live.

What is next

Apple TV is coming shortly. Soundscapes and stories belong in the bedroom, not just on a phone held six inches from your face, and the living room screen you already fall asleep to is a natural home for them. We will share more when it ships. Android is coming soon as well.

For now, Dreamtide is available on iPhone today. You can download it on the App Store, start the free trial, and see how tonight goes. You can also learn more at dreamtide.app.

Sleep well.
